white gold would be too soft id imagine.... youd be better off with a chrome w/ a powder coat maybe....

I can't imagine anything worse than shagging to Mark Knopfler.

Maybe shagging Mark Knopfler, but that's about it.

how about this for a guitar....

www.warmoth.com
^parts...^

a musiclander body made of mahogany, painted in a honey burst.
string thru body construction w/ tonepro locking tune-o-matic bridge.
schaller locking tuners.
a koa neck (standard 22 fret) with a pau ferro fretboard, painted black at the peghead.
H/X/H setup, either SD pearly gates or antiquities 's, possibly coil taps for both positions.

im planning on building that someday. cost right now would be about... 1200 us dollars.

It would look a little odd to me, because you would still have the dark fretboard and headstock. I would just take the pickguard off instead of putting a white one on. White EMGs in a normal one, without a pickguard, and with gold or chrome hardware wouldnt look too bad.
