hey guys, on the popular radio station (107.1 FM Toronto) around here they play classic rock right? They overkill on Led Zepplin, Rush, Boston and the like so you're getting a decent variety... if they didnt play pretty much the same songs every day.

I was just wondering if anyone listens to any classic rock radio stations that play Judas Priest, Iron Maiden or even some Metallica anymore. I know people are gonna be like "ZoMG METULZZ!" but the thing is that the station used to play Judas Priest's You've Got Another Thing Coming and Metallica's Enter Sandman.

It seems like people just want to listen to Sweet Child O Mine all day when there's great, radio-friendly songs out there such as Nothing Else Matters by Metallica or even Wasted Years by Maiden.

IDK but it seems to me like people are missing out.

EDIT2: i'm really dumb. you're from quebec. Y108 is from hamilton, ontario.

100.7 wzlx seems to play a lot of guns n roses, doors, and of course the beatles. no metal really, tho
They credited us with the birth of that sort of heavy metal thing. Well, if that's the case, there should be an immediate abortion.

One classic rock station in my area, 102.5 the Bone in Florida, plays a decent amount of metal. Theyve played Dr. Feelgood, Kickstart my Heart, Nothing Else Matters, and probably some other Metallica stuff, too. They also play some stuff like Pearl Jam, maybe Alice in Chains too, i just havent listened to it in a while.

rock 101.1 thats our classic rock station. They play some pretty good ****. Not just zeppelin and all that, they actaully play classinc rock, The Who, Supertramp. Stuff like that.

Then theres 99.3 which play more mainstream rock stuff, but it's still cool, they play like rage against the machine and Nine Inch Nails. They also have a show at 11 pm on tuesdays called the shop wher they play metal, like Soulfly and Shadows Fall. Then there is a punk show at 11pm on Thursday where they play new punk stuff like The Unseen and The Lawrence Arms. They play old stuff too like Sex Pistols and The Clash
My favorite band is Tool.

we have Q107 in calgary too, they pretty much play just the really popular classic rock songs with the exception being nights with Alice Cooper which is open to less mainstream/hit songs and will occasionally play newer music.

I have Sirius. I haven't listened to a commercial FM station in 4 years. I don't think I've missed anything by the sounds of it.

i think its Dee Snider, not Alice.

Over here, there simply isn't a classic rock station . Only an 80's station. And only one. The rest plays popular modern music.

In Calgary its definitely Alice Cooper, Toronto is probably different though but I think he might of had Dee Snider as a guest once.

in Wisconsin, 94.1 JJO plays a good mix of new hard rock and older metal, i.e. Metallica, Motorhead; they also play everything from GNR to SOAD, and all sorts of alt-metal stuff.

I hate how some stations only play certain songs form some metal bands. Like on Jack Fm I've only head Nothing Else Matters and Enter Sandman from Metallica and Run to the Hills and Wasted Years by Maiden. They always repeat them.

why are some of you guys saying your "classic rock" stations are playing stuff like nickelback and stuff. if a rock station plays stuff like that i have no idea why you would call it a classic rock station.
i have 2 pretty good classic rock stations around here, they both got led zeppelin things at 10 oclock, but they got a pretty good variety. then theres a classic hits station that plays good classic rock along with more pop songs from 60s and 70s.

I listen to 92 KQRS. It's Minneapolis' classic rock station. They play Judas Priest and stuff but they don't play Thrash or anything of those types of metal. But the hard rock station 93x does play some metal.
