I'm thinking to buy it, so I've been reading about it. BUT..
Some say it's compatible with Vista, others say it's not.
Some say it has a very good sound quality, others say it's horrible.
Some say it has a lot of problems, others say it works perfectly.

I am confused!
Seriously, is this a good audio interface or not??

They are fair units but I prefer working with firewire since its less picky...
Theres the Inspire 1394 by PreSonus.

Go to the Tascam site and see if they have vista drivers out.

I really think M-Audio is the best company to deal with when working on vista. They have outstanding driver support.

what about the Line 6 UX2 TonePort?
and can you recommend a specific m-audio model that is around the same price as the tascam and with similar features?

Toneports hate vista last time I used one, but that was at the beginning of the year...

Even still, I would go with an M-Audio product.

MF has a B-Stock Firewire Solo or you can get a PreSonus Inspire 1394

Both are firewire so if your computer doesnt have a 4 or 6 pin firewire port you will need to add one.

IF you want to stick with USB theres this Fast Track Pro, but it's a little higher in price.
