This thead is just any general recommendation of movies, documentaries, shorts, etc. to anyone who needs it.

I know a bunch of us have Netflix, or are just genuinely interested in movies to see next, so I figured I would try and help out.

Now, I need some recs, if you don't mind.

My current Netflix queue is:

Fear and Loathing (getting this tomorrow)
Sideways
Trainspotting
Strapping Young Lad: Live
Slap Shot
The Brothers Grimm
Brazil
Memento
Firefly (complete 4 disc set)
Serenity
There Will be Blood
Patch Adams
The Incredibles
The Iron Giant
Walk Hard

I'm just looking for great movies. I'm open to anything.

Also, I've already saw Fight Club, Donnie Darko, Full Metal Jacket, and many other popular favorites. Not ALL popular favorites, but a lot of them.

Thanks in advance.

That movie kicked ass.

I've saw bits and pieces, and already know how it ends, but I just haven't saw it in ages.

Like, last night, I watched "Groundhog Day" for the first time all the way through, since I haven't watched it since I was about 5, and knew nothing about it except he relives February 2 over and over.

Loved it, though. Classic Bill Murray.

Zugunruhe: Will add Into the Wild. Heard all about it, never saw it. I've saw "Lebowski" and "O' Brother", though.

Kung Foo Hustle

This and Shaolin Soccer. Try to get the Chinese subtitled version though, seeing as how the English overdubs are usually horrible.

If you're into Japanese animation, I would recommend these three movies by Hayao Miyazaki.

1. Princess Mononoke
2. Spirited Away
3. Howls Moving Castle

these are great movies, even if you're not into animation

Watch High Fidelity, the 3 great Guy Ritchie movies: Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels; Snatch; Revolver. I really enjoyed Charlie Wilsons War mainly because of Phillip Seymour Hoffman (one of my favorite actors) and Tom Hanks.
Check out Good Morning Vietnam if you like Robin Williams. I will think of more good flicks later.

^Good Morning Vietnam is one of my all time faves.

Thanks all.

Tons added that I knew I needed to see, but just needed to be reminded.

Felon is good. I've seen a lot of the movies on imdb's top 250 list (at least the one's that appeal to me) and I'm also looking for some movies worthy of watching.

To those into sci-fi, check out Sunshine if you haven't seen it. I'm not really into space/doomsday movies but for some reason I just love Sunshine.

other random recommendations.

Oldboy
Battle Royale
Hard Candy
Equilibrium
The Orphanage

That's available for free through On Demand, at the moment?

Really worth a watch? I've heard very little about it. =/

Will do.

Tomorrow. I'll have Fear and Loathing then, as well, so I can take up the majority of my day watching movies, since I'm off work.

Aye, Fear and Loathing is awesome.

Man I've been watching WAY too many movies lately. It's gotten to the point that I'm throwing completely random and obscure shit on my Netflix queue just for the sake of filling it up and because I'm running out of things to watch.

I just finished watching Uwe Boll's Postal. That's going to be pretty hard to top.

I refuse to watch ANY Uwe Boll film, even if it's just to butcher it. I've never saw anything he's made, and I never plan to.

His existence alone is hazardous to my health.

Postal had Vern Troyer, Osama Bin Laden, and Boll basically making fun of himself. Also, ridiculous amounts of violence including kids being shot and cats being used as silencers. Needless to say, it was awesome!

Can somebody recommend me some good French movies? I want to practice my French so I figure this could help.
Was La Vie En Rose any good?
#39
1. The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
2. Funny Games
3. Rambo (Remake)
