no offense to any drummers here but some drummers have no idea about playin guitar.

i remember learning american idiot (song) its slightly hard cos of the speed of the main riff. it took me ages to get the right speed.
and as soon as my neighbour who's 1st instrument is drums ,got a guitar he was like "teach me steve vai, joe satriani and the american idiot riff". he really didnt think anything on guitar was difficult. and i had been playin guitar for a couple of months before i got the hang of the riff and could play it flawlessly, and he just suddenly expects to be able to play steve vai and satriani stuff.

and now he says he has learnt a satriani song, he told me the name and i found out it wasn't satriania at all.

and one day when i gave him my american idiot cd to listen to, the next day i asked if he'd listened to it and he says i listened to 3 tracks but i cant listen to heavy music very long cos it hurts my ears

any one else have storys about drummers. if so then post them here

I knew a guy called Robert. He was mainly a drummer (a pretty good one, actually) and he started guitar later.

He said his guitar was a rare guitar that's a replica of Bob Marley's, and it was specially ordered for him because he's left handed.

It was an Epiphone LP Special II.

Sad thing is, he honestly believed it was something unique.

i was having a go on his drums
so he said
lets have a go on ur guitar
picks it up
i have to actually put it into postion on him
i plug him in set up noise levels etc
then he sits there, looks at my guitar and says:
"why isnt it making any noise?"

Fair enough dude. The first song I ever learned was Tribute, by Tenacious D.

Seriously though, Green Day too heavy for him? Is he like, sixty years old, and a jazz drummer?

A lot of Nickelback's stuff is way heavier than Green Day.

i think he just listens to the singles though e.g rockstar

edit: he has this acoustic thing he bout for £10 in a pawn shop and it doesnt have a brand name on the headstock. he asked me if i thought it was valuble and it looked like it was made out of cardboard.

American Idiot would be hard for a two fingered man. Or a newbie I suppose.
I'm a guitarist and a techy. Drummers (and other musicians, but mostly drummers) say stupid **** to me all the time.
But more importantly they DO stupid ****, like drop expensive microphones and hit them with their drum sticks. I know plenty of nice, smart drummers, but some others are just inconsiderate arseholes

that's really good.

my drummer (who's my cousin) doesn't say stupid stuff about guitar. actually, he makes a lot of questions regarding my gear since he's gonna be taking guitar lessons this year.

I think i sound dummer if i tried to talk about drums.

My drummer played guitar for 5 years and picked up the drums about a year and a half ago and hes shockingly good.

Although we crack such things as "Now hes a drummer, hes only getting dummer",

he tried to re-string his BC Rich and looped the strings in under the bridge then couldnt understand why the strings were touching the fretboard. Then he raised the height of the bridge it was like 75mm clear of the body. Drummers....

Yeah, they can be inconsiderate arseholes sometimes... but so can Guitarists.. Bassists.. Singers.. Plumbers.. Bus drivers.. Accountants..

You can probably see where I'm going with all this.

What's with all the hate for drummers? (of course not everyone here hates drummers)

By the way, I'm a guitarist, so I'm not 'biased' towards drummers or anything.

WITHOUT A WHAMMY BAR??!?!?! He should make a video explaining how to do it, right now. With an overly long intro showing his guitar!

erm, once the drummer in my band said he can play eruption. He'd never touched a guitar before when I'vebeen with him, so i was VERY sceptical. He picked it up a BASS and played the root notes of twelve bar blues. We couldn't say anything but well done, he's very highly strung. I'm sorry .
