Hi all,

I'm going to build my first guitar based on an RG (yes another one) and I want to see if this headstock design is any good.

Poll soon.

Thanks
Sam

I think it would look good reversed.
Just my opinion. It would still be okay regular but reversed........
#5
I like the reverse version more as well.

I think if the "2nd" curve were tighter and the "1st" curve were longer, it would look better.

I'll draw one up now.

The reverse is pretty sweet a cool dip in the middle would be cool also.....I think
#9

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

Better?
Wicked. I might say tuck in the point just a hair, but that looks very cool

I kinda changed it up a bit

Better?

looks aight but the nut area looks fat. the place right after the nut. thin that out more and i think itd look a little better. or just use the regular ibanez design..

Yeah I'll probably use the original Ibanez design, I'll only bugger it up otherwise

The pointy point?

Its similar to but somewhat inverted to that of an Ibanez IMHO. An Ibanez headstock would be longer on top and certainly not as pointy.

I'm so undecided I'm just going to wait until my supplies arrive and see what happens.

i dont like ibanez headstocks. i think the esp headstock looks way better for reverse. actually, i love the jackson reverse, but a lot of people dont like it. reverse sounds different too. you get less tension on the treble strings and more on the bass strings. sounds and feels different

Thanks for replies.

I didn't know there was different tensions I'll have to think about that one.

well feelwise, not much, but there is a difference in tone. i cant tell the difference in tnesion personally. i think logically there would be. the bass strings sound heavier for sure. great for heavy stuff

I like the first one the best so far.

Me too. It looks like some sort of Final Fantasy-type weapon.
