If I am frequently tuning down to Eb standard and back up again, with some dropped D here and there, will my strings wear out significantly faster?

not significantly faster, but yes constantly changing tuning will render them more likely to break.

it does shorten the life if you do it heaps, i have 1 guitar which i keep de-tuning and re-tuning and the other i keep in drop c# and the de-tuning 1s straings always break quicker. its nothing extreme tho

i'm not quite sure, but i would say that the changing between tensions for the different tunings can't be good for the string.
but if you're going to downtune, its not like your strings will break overnight.
