haha

Tom Morello uses digitech whammy because it's the best whammy out there. you, being a poser, are all like "digitech sucks wah wah wah" and when people say that they are more often than not referring to their cheap stompboxes, not good products such as the whammy and jamman.

hahaha, look it up dude. tom MORELLO does use a digitech wammy, and original or something.

that is used for most of the really high "skreeching" notes. the solo with feedback and killswitch is...bullet in the head i believe.

feedback, tremelo, wah, killswitch and the whammy pedal are used ALOT by morello.

hahaha. really eh? this is what it's come to?

he also likes to use a real short, slapback delay. he uses a boss digital delay if i'm not mistaken.

someone link the man that video where he explains all this ****.

Uh, he's kind of the reason that the Digitech Whammy is popular.

Judging by his solo in "Killing In The Name" (probably the best example I can think of of his "loud screeching noises" right off the top of my head, I'd have to say it's wah with a hardy mix of harmonics, just look at all of the harmonics in the solo.

My bad, I was an idiot and didn't read the tab legend, the ( ) notes mean with whammy pedal.

Actually, it's just a Digitech Whammy Pedal and some trem picking...if you go to that video I linked he explains the entire solo. (or it may be in the second or third parts of that video which can be found once you're there)

a killswitch is a button to silence the strings then rings them out. heres another example is you have a less paul put one of the volume knobs on 0 and other on 10 bend a note then switch fast thats what a killswitch is but its not the button you use the pickup selector.

Speaking of the Killing in the Name solo, my band is covering that song, but none of our guitarists own a whammy pedal. I've figured out how to replicate the first part:
e:-|-(8)(8)(8)-8-8-8-(5)(5)(5)-5-5-5---------------------------------
B:-|---------------------------------(8)(8)(8)-8-8-8-(6)(6)(6)-6-6-6-
G:-|*----------------------------------------------------------------
D:-|*----------------------------------------------------------------
A:-|-----------------------------------------------------------------
D:-|-----------------------------------------------------------------

__________________________________________________ _________________________
|1. |2.
e:---------------------------------(5)-|--------------------------------------
B:-------------------------------------|--------------------------------------
G:-(7)(7)(7)-7-7-7-(5)(5)(5)-5-5-5----*|-(7)(7)(7)-7-7-7-(5)(5)(5)-5-5-5-(7)~-
D:------------------------------------*|--------------------------------------
A:-------------------------------------|--------------------------------------
D:-------------------------------------|--------------------------------------

and the part with the long slides, but not the middle part with the Whammy trills:
e:-5h8-(5)(8)(5)(8)(5)(8)(5)(8)(5)-8-5-8-(5)(8)(5)(8)(5)(8)(5)(8)(5)(8)-
B:----------------------------------------------------------------------
G:----------------------------------------------------------------------
D:----------------------------------------------------------------------
A:----------------------------------------------------------------------
D:----------------------------------------------------------------------

I've tries to copy it by just trilling hammerons/pulloffs and by tapping, but neither of those work. Anyone have an idea as to what I could do?

On Bulls on Parade's "solo" (if you can call it that), he uses a killswitch and slides his hand up and down the neck...
