Ok.To get to the point my tone knob is loose and shakey..How do I fix? I'm going to take it to the shop, but what should I do? Similar experiences?

If it's got a split shaft, you can bend the two halves outwards to make the knob a tighter fit.

Oh the innuendo ...

all you need to do is pull off the plastic knob. (unlock it if it's got a little side screw hole)

tighten the nut under it while holding the pot from inside the guitar (if it's a rear cavity style).

then, put the knob back on.

do what blue strat says, if you mean it's the plastic knob that's loose.
do my thing, if it's the shaft under it that's loose.

Jenny needs to sow her wild oats with random Gibsons and Taylors she picks up in bars before she settles down with a PRS.

get a flat head screw driver and gently spread the split thingy apart
