Wrote and recorded this song this afternoon. I'm quite happy with the whole thing, though I'd like to come back to the solo when i have some new ideas. Looking for opinions on my playing and writing more than the mix. C4C, I'll do my best to get back to you.

The overall sound on this track is very tight. I like the drum programming a lot, although the drum sound could be slightly better. Songwriting-wise this is pretty good. There's enough variation and more "melodic" parts to keep the listener interested. The solo was decent, nothing spectacular but it fits the song well and that's all that matters. Somehow, it was a tad hard for me to get a grip of the song structure. I don't know why, maybe there wasn't quite enough repetition and development of themes or then I just wasn't focusing hard enough. All in all, I liked this tune and this is definitely better than most of the songs you hear on UG.

Btw, I really like this stuff, and it deserves a brutal mix.
Have a listen to the song in my thread and tell me if you're up for letting me mix your track.
I'd do it for free 'n all.

Cheers!

Good stuff for an afternoon's work.
Nice guitar tone and a really tight mix overall.
Song structure wise I think it's really good. Great riffs and the solo fits in really well. Nice playing too. Vocals would top it off nicely.
Good to see some excellent QLD metal haha

if you listen carefully youll notice the structure basically, i kept the choruses the same, but wanted the verses to vary each time, just to mix things up

yea this is real nice man, nice thick heavy, AND "clean" tone haha. Lot of cool riffs, i liked the panning to diff sides, makes the overall mix sound real professional to me, as well as the recording quality period. May i ask where u got the drums?

Really good job man. The riffs throughout were really good. I especially liked the part near the beggining with the panning, and I really liked the riff for (what I assumed) was the chorus. Cool stuff. The production was aso very well done, especially on the guitar, but The drums didn't sound too good. Bring them forward in the mix, and amplify the bass drum a bit more. Plus the drums themselves weren't that good either. Let hear some more fills! The solo was ok. There were a few noticable errors though, and I wasn't a huge fan of the whammy stuff at the begging, but that's just persoanl preference.

Overall though, you did a really good job on this. 9/10.

That was awesome - how the hell did you write and record that in an afternoon?! Unlike some others, I really liked the drums - what did you use to program them, if you don't mind me asking? The solo was awesome, although the whammy stuff at the beginning didn't fit too well in my opinion. 9/10 though, well done!
