i want an amp to do blues and really nice cleans but also do hard rock/metal.

if i got a fender blues junior and put some pedals in front of it would that be decent?

the other amps i'm considering are peavey classic 30 or a laney vc-30 maybe

what do u guys think?

i dnt really have a budget (lets say under £1000) but i want something with a fairly low wattage

thanks,

The Blues Jr. with pedals would be the best out of those. Get a good pedal like a Tubescreamer or Guv'nor for OD and get some sort of reverb and/or delay.

Id go with a Classic 30. It at least has an EQ. With a tubescreamer, i think it would sound really nice.

Wait, if you're looking at something under 1000, then look for a used Vetta combo. They can do everything well.

Guys. In the first post he said he had a budget of under a thousand euros. Classic 30s are only 350 over there. USE YOUR HEADS.

Does it have to be tube? At this budget, you'll get much more convincing metal AND blues tones with modeling.

Grab a Line 6 Flextone III.

I've already said it once. The Vetta II combo is in his price range if he goes used, and it'd be miles better, though if he stubbornly refused to go used or raise his budget by 100 then a Flextone would be a good option as well.

Hmm, my H&K does awesome cleans, and lovely light OD for blues. Hard Rock it will do fine as well, as for metal i don't go that far (heaviest is GNR/RATM etc,) , but i'm sure it could if you turn the gain up a bit/use the boost.

It's only 20W as well, and light.

However you have around another £300-400 so, I'd say check out some more expensive amps as well. I would recommend trying it out though, blew me away.

Basically, try out as many as you possibly can, and just choose what is right for your ears...
