Okay, so, I've decided to get a new guitar to complement my Epiphone Les Paul! My budget is $1500 and I play every genre except for metal.

I could either buy a Les Paul Studio, buy a Jazzmaster, buy a 72 Thinline Telecaster and an Epiphone Casino, or find a used 70s-80s Les Paul Standard.

Go UG, the choice is yours!
Yeah!

Those are all completely different guitars. Why would you leave that choice up to a random group of people? Have you played any of them?

I'm not going to make my purchase on what the poll says... I'm going for the general opinion on the guitars. I've played them and I will definitely play them to hell before I buy them.
Yeah!

I would get a Strat, since that is pretty much the opposite of your LP, and would be a good other guitar for you to have.

Fair enough. In that case my vote goes towards the used LP Standard. That is if you're after humbucker tones.

EDIT: Ohh you're looking to compliment your Epi. I change my vote to the Thinline then. Those are amazing as well.

dont get a studio, u will regret it, i hate jazzmasters, and theyre not worth the money(some will disagree), and the thinline is awsome but it cant cover al ur genres. so out of those find a used 70s-80s les paul.

I guess I worded "to complement" wrong. I'm not really looking for a guitar to play in addition to it, I'm looking for a new guitar of a better quality, since it is a $550 guitar.

About my amp, uhhh, I have a B-52 AT100 (-_-) which I am hopefully getting rid of in exchange for an Orange AD30/Rocker 30.
Yeah!

Nice amp choice...

Well if you're looking to upgrade and you like you're Epi, a Gibson Standard will be perfect.

get the two. that way, you can have the clean twang of the tele, the warm and power of a les paul, and the raw awesomeness of a casino.
