I want to start modding one of my old guitars.
Its an old RG with a basswood body and a maple neck.
I want to replace both the bridge and neck pickups.
I will be playing mostly metal, punk, and jazz.
Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks.

i was just asking. just wanted to know the amp.
here are my choices:
Dimarzio D-Sonic/Air Norton
Dimarzio Super Distortion/PAF Pro
Dimarzio Breeds
Seymour Duncan JB/Jazz
Seymour Duncan 59 set

out of them, i'd pick the SD/PAF Pro or JB/Jazz.
Ibanez RG321MH (Air Classic/Tone Zone)
Fernandes Telecaster (Twang King/stock bridge pickup)
Blackstar HT-20 (Scumback 55 speaker/ Tung Sol tubes)
TC Electronic Nova Repeater
Lava Cables Clear Connect, Soar and Mini ELC

Those are some good combinations, but I like the Dimarzio Tone Zone in the bridge position for a good metal sound and a Breed in the neck position for good clean and lead tones. Try a similar guitar with the pickups you have in mind and see what sounds good to your ears. The JB/Jazz set is very commonly used and should work great too.
