I got my first tube amp yesterday, so I have a few questions about it:

It gets really hot after a while; almost too hot to touch. Is this normal?

It makes sort of faint hissing sounds sometimes, except they're not exactly hissing sounds. I can't really describe it. Is it normal for tube amps to make those kind of noises or any noises at all?

The manual says to wait 20 seconds before turning it from standby to on, but most people on the forums say to wait 1 minute. Should I go by the manual or play it safe and wait 1 minute?

Any help is appreciated!

Okay, thanks for the reply. I'm leaving now and I'm going to be gone until tomorrow so I won't see any more replies until then.

The closest lights to my amp are in the ceiling. Is that close enough to count?
What's sheilding your guitar?
I shall not cut down on my uber excessive gain.

The ceiling is close enough.

That's for a strat, but the basic idea is sound and will work for any guitar

If you don't wanna turn down the gain, pay the price of hum or get a noise gate.
I don't give a shit if you listen to me or not

Okay, thanks everybody. I don't really care about the noise and stuff that much. I just wanted to make sure that nothing was wrong with the amp.
