So in the future when i have enough money im planning to get an Ashdown RPM-1 EVO 11 preamplifier and running it through most likely a tapco j.800. I wanted to know will this sound different from a standard Ashdown abm because i love that sound but this way i can do it cheaper then getting an abm and i can also change things round in the future if i want to. I cant actually try these two things out together but will a different poweramp make a different sound.
Thanks
Sam

Poweramps do affect the sound, though most try to minimise the effect on tone.

But will it take away from the abm sound and make it sound dramitically different Or will it sound like an abm but abit weaker.

Honestly, I have no idea. Try both out. However, if you are set on the ABM sound, why not just save a little more in order to get exactly what you want, rather than a potentially half arsed version?

It was just that in the future i was thinking if i needed to i could always change the preamp if i wanted something diifferent or my poweramp to make it louder or something it just seemed alot more versatile. But thanks.
