I'm looking to start planning a new guitar build, but I'd like to work out the dimensions and the body shape etc on the computer. What programs would work for that kind of thing.

I've had google Sketchup recommended, but we don't get on....

Thanks guys

I'm not 100% sure what to advise. I allways used lightwave, but it was a fairly expensive 3D modeling program. Maybe photoshop?

Personaly I would do it all to scale on paper, that way you can tape it to your wood and use it as a template. My drawing skills are terrible, but it works :P.

I'm sure there must be some free CAD programs out there if you google it. I think Eagle was a free one I used a few years ago.

Cheers
