An original floyd rose usually fits into all Jackson guitars with little or no modification required.

bump? I really need a definite answer. Me spending 200 plus for a bridge isn't a small deal.

I swapped for an OFR in my Jackson DK2 - made in 05 I think. It also fit in RR3 body made from the 90's. I'm 99% sure that all the new Jackson licensed trems are the same exact specs as the original.

The OFR & Gotoh Floyd Rose systems all retro-fit with no problem.
It's the Schaller Units that don't as there's an extra 2mm spacing on the posts.

Is there any black people on UG?
I don't think a lot of black people play guitar anymore.

Ok thanks that answered my question. What do you think is better OFR or Gotoh?

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

Gotoh is cheaper but much better designed for use, I use them over the OFR's now.

The arm placement has a tension screw to let it move or lock or gently fall, ect.
The clamps on the unit for the strings are far superiour too with them being recessed.

What model of guitar? Newer Jacksons with the JT580 can be subbed for an OFR, but the lock bolts may be close to the route when totally extended. Older models with the JT580 Lo Pro need a Lo Pro OFR or Schaller IIRC. With the standard JT580, anything will fit. For the JT590 or JT5500/JT570, you want need to use a Schaller. JT6s can be swapped with anything, just keep in mind you'll "only" have about 95% of the max dive range due to the posts.

Oooh, good point, I never took into account that it could be a Lo Pro model.

Alright, looked it up. You'll want a Schaller on that due to it being a JT500/JT570

You'll need a lo-pro saddle. I would think an OFR or another one Takeuchi/TRS style would work as well though
