I've written songs that have no guitar, but feature Bass as a lead guitar part. Am I being original or just plain crazy or words to those effect?

sometimes you write songs starting with only bass in mind, or lead in mind.

it happens to everyone. at least...it should

I wouldn't call what we have here on the Bass Forum a mentality. It's more like the sharing part of an AA meeting.

I've done the same thing too. It just comes naturally and you just write it down and you’ve got a song.

That was one of the bass forum's finer moments (threads). TS, it's not original, but it's a good thing to do sometimes.

Well he's wrong. Plain as day. There's nothing wrong with going against the preconceived notions of guitar being the melody instrument. There have been plenty of people- very successful people- who have done just that.
#14
Avant-garde, eh?

Seriously, there are many lead bassists or bassists who are the main melodic part of their band or solo bassists or whatever
