this might be a dumb question, but im a beginner, so I need your help guys!

im thinking to purchase something, but im not sure what is better TonePort or an effects pedal.

all i want is nice distortion/overdrive/delay effects and better sound than i can get from my 10watt amp -.- i dont want to record, i just want to jam and get good sound.

if toneport is better, than which one, a GX, UX1 or UX2. (im only using a guitar)
if pedal, than which one too.

I got 200$. Please help me out, guys!

thanks in advance!

Well, a Toneport is really made for recording, but you can use it to connect your guitar to your computer and use gearbox to modulate an amp. If you don't want to do that and want to play with your amp you should buy a pedal.

It's up to you.

But if you choose Toneport, the GX is the best for you, it's the cheapest and it's got what you need.

BUT. For 200 you can also get a multi effects unit and use that over the clean channel of your amp. A Boss ME-50 might be in your price range. Than you have a lot of effects like distortion and OD, phaser, delay etc. etc.

If I were you I'd go for the multiFX

EDIT: Take a look at this, fast, it's a price drop

are you gonna gig/jam at other places? if so, pedals are your best bet.

no, just home

i was thinking of a pedal too, but here comes a question, would they still work if the amp is.. really bad

oh, and also, im from UK, i just wrote dollars because most people here are from US, sorry about that

If you use it over teh clean channel, yes, as long as it doesn't interfere with the (mostly crap) effects that are on your amp. But you can also save your money and buy a better amp in the future. But if your playing at home, a multiFX through the clean channel works well enough.
By the way, if you can only use your speaker that would be better. What amp do you have now?

£100, let me guess. You should always post whatever curenncy your using, because things cost different amounts of money between contries.

Anyways, maybe this?

It'll have the things you want and it's £100.

Maybe a new amp? I'd suggest a microcube. They're known for have pretty good distortion. They certainly have to be better than what you have now.
I don't give a shit if you listen to me or not

If I was you I'd get this
http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/vox-ad-15vt/12178
It will give a good variety of sounds and has all the standard effects built in. If you realy want an fx pedal then I'd go for this

Its a bit over your budget but it's worth it. Remember that you can get much more for your money if you go 2nd hand. Ebay is a goldmine for good deals.
