ok, so i used the search bar which was of no help to me.

my epi LP standard has a slight upward bow of the neck (u shaped)

i don't want to have to plane it and get a refret done

any solution to this problem (a simple one)
is it anything to be worried about (now or long term)
any specific cause for the bow
(i did put higher guage strings (.11's))

thanks for the insight

Adjust the truss rod.

yeah man. did you put heavier strings on it? bowed neck is nothing. if it gets S shaped that's bad.

aright cool.
because i read that with a bowed neck like this, a truss rod adjustment won't do much.
i guess that was wrong....
is it expensive for it to be professionally done?

Sorry to hear it man.

Was the guitar exposed to high humidity for an extended period of time or maybe even directly exposed to water? If there was and the bowing is severe enough then there may be nothing you can do to bring it back to its original condition. If you value your guitar then go see a guitar tech/repair shop that has a reputation for quality work in your area. Ask around.

Any removal of wood by planing or even fret work on a normal neck could change the tone of your axe. Please take the time to consider your options before you bust out the tool box and a six pack.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.
