Ok, I know this is a noobish question, and I did search it and nothing useful came up, but I was just wondering, what exactly is a reverb tube?

Is it a preamp tube that is modified in some way, or is it another kind of tube seperate from power and pre tubes?

Ok, so its not connected to gain or anything at all, just a different circuit or something? That's kinda what I thought, thanks.

It Usually is necessary for using the amp still BTW.
Its just a single tube set aside for it.
