The acoustic version of Great Expectations is excellent.

I'll listen to the rest tomorrow as i'm knackered but that was good

Got my tickets a while ago, only just over a month and a few days to go!
I've been getting my close circle of friends obsessed too
#46
I feel more discussion needs to happen about these guys. I really wish I had a ticket for their Alkaline/Rise Against show.

Something's up with Brian Fallon. Nobody is that humble and nice in real life.

I'm calling it right now - Gaslight is gonna break up when the media finds out that Brian is running a baby killing factory or something.

It's inevitable.

Brian seems like an awesome guy, unfortunately I've never met him. I really need to see them where they actually play a lot of songs instead of just 7 like they did on their Rise Against tour. I'll probably see them with the Souls and Let Me Run in December, that should be a sick show. Too bad it's on a Sunday night.
I'm the same as I was when I was six years old

it annoys me that they're touring with frank turner in mainland europe.
i think that would be the greatest show ever, ever, ever.

and the CD is fantastic mate.
The '59 Sound is a great song but IMO it's not even in my top 5 of the album, if you like it though, you'll love the album.

Can't wait
Just under a month to go now!

If you like that song, you'll love the whole album. It's not even close to being the best song on there.

Oh. My. Days.

I'd bum it in Norwich for a night to see that. I survived Camden, so Norwich would be a breeze.

I might even go to Norwich for this.

I'll convince my mate to drive me, he's not a music guy but the hell with it, he will be dragged to this if no Scotland date is announced

Although, only 11 days until they hit Glasgow!
Stoked to hell for this, my mate keeps forgetting we're going but i'll definitely be there, the supports not too bad either, except the King Blues, can't say they were very good IMO

EDIT:
TooFast,
Can you remember some of the setlist as I assume they'll play a similar set over here.

Aslong as they played Blue Jeans and White T-Shirts?

I don't remember them playing that, but I could be forgetting.

As for the rest, they opened with Great Expectations, Old White Lincoln, 59 Sound, The Backseat, Drive and a cover of the Weight by the Band.

Awww

They best play it here.

In other news, full UK tour announced and i'll be having words with Brian about the lack of a Scotland date.

I know they want to play places they haven't but Glasgow is one place, Edinburgh (is the Capital first of all and is nicer >_> needs to be played too

And I don't want to travel to England to see them again
#68
saw these guys twice. best time was when they played with Polar Bear Club in richmond. I got to hang out with them after their show in Virginia Beach last month. really nice guys. '59 sound seems to get a lot of people into them, the video pretty much sucks, but the song is good.
#69
I loved the video.

Bugger it all.

Right guys this sounds desperate.

But does anyone want a free ticket for the Gaslight Anthem tomorrow night in Glasgow?

Pathetic i know but my mates pulled out it seems and no one here knows of them/willing to travel to Glasgow.

If not I'll just stag it
#73
so i ignored this band for ages and then gave the 59 sound a proper listen. pretty enjoyable tbh. just nice, catchy, easy to listen to. not what i 'usually' go for but i like it.

If I wasn't skint I'd have taken you up on that, no way I'd be able to get up to Glasgow though. Good luck man, have a good night.

Cheers anyway.

I'm still searching for someone aswell, i hate doing stuff on really short notice.

Damn people and their lack of knowledge on this band

Oh well, if anyone is there and sees a guy in an NFL jersey and black jacket, come say hi to me
#76
Just back from Glasgow.

OH.MY.GOD!

Everyone needs to see this band.

Former Cell Mates were proper mint but were only on about 25minutes, the King Blues absolutely tore up the place and this older gentleman getting bevvied singing away to them.

Then jesus christ, the Gaslight Anthem played about 90-100 minutes of pure awesomeness.

You could tell he genuinely loved our singing along.

Then i got to SHAKE BRIANS HAND AFTER THE SHOW!!!!

My right hand shall never be washed again.
#77
sounds like it was some gig!!!

I hope to get to them next year in dublin!!

You better go.

It was fantastic, it might only be better with Frank Turner there aswell.

Setlist that I can remember entailed (in no order):
Great Expectations, The '59 Sound, Miles Davis and The Cool, Blue Jeans and White T-Shirts, Senor and the Queen, Wherefore Art Thou Elvis?, Say I Won't (Recognise), Drive, The Backseat, Here's Looking At You Kid, We Came To Dance, A little cover of Stand By Me, Old White Lincoln, High and Lonesom, 1930.

I think that was all but i may be missing one or two.

Either way.

Absolutely cracking, Say I Won't was a belter, just going mental.

And we got Brian to say some Scottish slang i think, although it was hard to hear

True gent in real life too.

I want to go back
#80
Is Polar Bear Club touring with them as well? If so, best show ever.
