Google has a link to a new browser, Google Chrome and from the awesome comic of awesomeness I have deducted to ask the geeks of the pit if it is worth downloading. Is it a replacement for Mozilla?

Tl;dr: Google Chrome, yay or nay?

EDIT: Dear random mod who changed the title, thanks.
SECOND EDIT: Ahh, that would be DIVID3D.

You typed THREE goddamn lines. If you think that is too long to read, you need to go back to elementary school.

Multithreaded browsing is a great idea. Download it. It's open source, so you are guaranteed to have nice add-ons for it in the near future.

This is the internet. There will always be one person who complains they didn't read it.

may-be , its still the beta version and i don't think they released that many add ons yet. Just wait till they make the first non beta version with a pack with add ons. I already have two browsers anyway, I probly won't get another for a while.

Often, computer geeks consider themselves geeks, so don't worry about calling them geeks
depending on if you say it right.
I call myself a computer geek all the time.

Anyway,
apparent benchmarks say their javascript engine is way faster
I think they're ****ed.
firefox is faster then everything on my computer, but it's all a matter of preference and your specific computer.
I haven't heard anything about the general safety and such about it
Personally, I hate Google, but I'll download the browser 'cos I have a browser fetish (I have safari, firefox, opera and IE, but I exclusively use firefox)
Firefox also has a new JScript engine coming that's supposed to be beastly fast.

But I believe Chrome is slower (on my computer)
It's kinda ugly (but could be worse)
and it's still in beta (SURPRISE SURPRISE, like everything else Google does, Chrome willl probably sit in beta for YEARS like gmail)
I haven't heard a whole lot about it, like security and everything, it was just 'POOF, RELEASED'
that's my 4 cents.

^^^ If you know anything about operating systems and processes, you will understand why Chrome is going to be the dankydank.

Just downloaded it. Fugly.

It seems a bit slower than Firefox and if FF is getting a new Java engine it will do that better too.

Meh.

It can get all the engines it wants. It's still not multithreaded.

Pardon my lack of understanding, but what does "Tl:dr" mean?

And I think it's pretty good so far. Just gotta wait for them add-ons to flow.
#24
Chrome looks pretty exciting, i've been crying out for a multi threaded browser for ages, but the main firefox dev seems to think that multi threading is 'a bad thing' (and is clearly insane)
Will be interesting to see what this is like, the comic they put up made it sound very cool, lots of interesting features, once it's finished it shud b lightning fast, secure, and 1 tab crashing (usually cuz of flash (damn you flash!)) wont take the whole browser down

now where is my linux beta version!
#25
I'll give it a shot, mainly be cause it's freesource, Addons!!

Which could mean new viruses too! Yay.
#26
whats multi threading?

Tl;dr, sorry.

Haha, why don't you just download it?? It's fucking free. I love how people have to make a decision whether or not to sign up for Facebook or download a browser. It only takes a couple of minutes.....

And I'm still LOLing at how no one on UG has any idea what is going on in these Google Chrome threads.
