I've been playing guitar for almost a year, first on my mother's 30 year old classical guitar, then on a squire strat. I'm now looking for a good quality steel string acoustic.

I really have no clue about what makes an acoustic guitar good or bad so I was hoping you guys could help me out.

Money isn't an issue but a good, cheap, guitar is always welcome

Acoustic/Electric? Does it matter?
Cutaway?
I'm putting my GAS on hold
for a couple months in order to pimp my ride.

Don't judge me.

Cutaway, but not an acoustic/electric, that would probably just add to the cost.

uh...really?

you said you wanted a cutaway, which instantly eliminated tons of great choices, then you come back with that?

Just because it looks cool?

Look at the Rancher if you want a Gretsch, and have changed your mind on the cutaway. They're nice.

I played a guitar much like that at a friends house, though it was an electric and loved it. I only want an acoustic though, and now that I look at it, it's not a solid body one, so never mind.

Cutaway would be nice, but like you said lots of choices gone then.

That martin's a good idea.
So's the rancher.
There are seagulls too.

Just figure it out, i'm not going to go linksearch again.
Play something, if you like it, buy it. Just don't buy a Yamaha or an Ibanez Talman. Or anything under 250 bones.

And don't pay any attention to the GC User reviews. They're worthless.

I'll assume that's a frothy mug of root beer, considering you're more than likely under 18/19.

No, that martin is a terrible idea. it's a "high pressure" laminate side/back.

If you're looking at mid range guitars, epiphones are a good place to start looking. some alvarez, some seagulls like he said

if you're looking to ever buy a martin or a taylor, go for the all solid guitars. that's the only time it's really ever worth it imo.

I second the motion. that martin is a terrible choice. that epiphone is probably the best thing mentioned so far.
