I want to know if a game that was originally released on windows 3.X will work with vista. I know it's a long time ago but maybe?

if you are trying to install it find the setup.exe file or install.exe and right click on it, then go to properties and find the compatibility tab

there you should be able to set it to run as if it was an older windows... once installed find all the executables (ie. search the intall folder for *.exe) and set those to run as backwards compatible as well and then it might run

vista, like XP, is a ***** for anything win98 and before so it might not work, or it will work... roll the dice

EDIT: if its a popular game there are sometimes user made patches for compatibility with a new OS... i know there is a XP patch for Red Alert
