dude thats awesome!!! that would be a really good song with vocals. i like the guitar alot and everything sounded really good

i'm a little confused as to whether this is a timing issue around that 1-2min mark with the triplets on the guitars. I just came from a 20hour recording session and my ears are really tired. I notice the guitars kind of come in a bit too early with the drums, and I'm assuming those are programmed drums by their sound.

the song sounds great, its got a very interesting use of rhythms and I enjoy those sort of things in music. it keeps the listener interested in my opinion. the guitar tones a decent but could use a bit of EQ to tidy up a slight muddy ringing going on.

please critique my song if you can.

No timing issue We decided to go stupidly weird with the rhythm instead of the normal 1-2-3-4-1-2-3-4 kinda beat. we go 1-2-3-4-1-2-3. I couldnt really get the drums tight enough tho with the drum program so some of it might be loose.

Thanks for the crit bro! muchos appreciated. and yeah I agree with the tone. it was a singlecoil guitar I was using (squier ) but I will go and tighten the guitar up!

ill do a c4c.

i really, really like the way the drums were mixed--kudos, not a lot of producers can mix drums well (although a little more oomph one the bass drum would go a long way). Obviously, if you can play John 5 then you have some considerable talent, and i think some crazier riffs would also give the song a boost, and i like when you guys sort of really hammer your instruments on the unison parts. Make it longer, add vocals, add a nice solo, and you'll have a great song.

and if you're gonna crit my song: https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/showthread.php?t=953195

one thing that stuck out like a sore thumb throughout was the cymbals. I think they need to be cleaned up EQ wise and quieted a bit. i find they just sound a bit trashy. someone told me on my own guitar tone once that High-mids are your friend. I think i'll pass that along to your guitar tone as well. I only really got to hear the bass during acousticy type parts.

the material itself was simple in a good way. easy enough to catch on to with the straightforward hooks, it'll obviously sound more full with vocals..

is that really the ending or did my download just stop?!

Yeah Im definally turning them down lol! Well tone is preference, not everyone will like the tone I go far. As far as Im concerned I like it. I will raise the bass so. I have a sub so I guess it seems alot louder than is.

Cheers for the crit!

Dude, Nice! Generally well composed!

I liked your manipulation of pulse and meter. It was very effective in terms of structure and separating the sections of the song through duration.

It would be fantastic to hear some vocals, and if not, perhaps you could lay down a lead track or two to keep some sort of melody alive?

It was a very nice listen, I can't really flaw it man, try as I might. Just a very fine piece of work that was thoroughly well composed and recorded. Keep it all up, your band is very tight and talented.

I share a similar style with you, so hit back if you're up for it.

Im not the best at leads, and I have a feeling that if I put a lead it will kill it, but but Im working on some sweeps to throw in to make it flow more.

Cheers for the crit man, I like you haha

no probs, will crit your song!

Hi,

Great song! There's definitely potential in this, if you say that this great piece of music is only a "rough recording".. I can tell that it's a rough recording though, with not a lot of mixing.. In some parts some instruments sound way too loud/too soft (like the clean guitar bit around 0.50).. But the playing was flawless, all of you guys seem to be amazing players! And amazing musicians, this is musically well thought out and performed! Kudos to you!

C4C? Check out my new song: https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/showthread.php?t=955209 Thanks!

This is cool. The intro reminded me of some autolux. The intro guitars seem like they don't quite lock into the rhythm totally, but its not very noticeable. I liked the last part, that was a pretty funky beat for a prog rock tune. care to crit mine? https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/showthread.php?t=956106

Yeah I agree with the intro. I kinda lost sense of the rhythm compared to what I had planned!
The last part is my favourite part, tones the song down complety

c4c on the way!

alright, writing as i go. Pretty annoying little buzz at the beginning, but maybe thats intended? wow. i really love the interplay between the guitars here. Cool rhythm lick, and the delayed part is tight cool. Man I really love that distorted bit! Cool rhythm! Really opeth to me :P Cool galloping beat on the double bass. man, when you lay into that main driving riff and keep it there its got a really great groove. Really love the phaser and delay. Great melody there, get yourself a singer! :P great job man. i loved the whole thing.

crit mine?
