I got a new acoustic a few weeks back and just got around the changing it's strings. I put Martin Marquis 12s on.

It's sounds great except for my D string. I get a lot of buzz from it. None from the other strings, just the D. It's in tune, but it's so bad it almost sounds like a sitar.

Any idea how to fix it?

Where does it buzz from fret wise? It sounds like your nut isnt cut right.....maybe too deep...If it is new take it back to the shop and ask them to check it out.....If that is not an option you may consider a new nut ...which isnt too costly ..Reply with more info

try lower gauge strings or increasing your action at the bridge the two screws at the sides
and are you sure you have put in the right string

I actually restrung the string and it doesn't do it anymore. I'll keep an eye on it.
