You want to get a diatonic harmonica either in the Key of C or Key of G. I know that the harmonica parts to "Heart of Gold" are in G. I have a cheap set that I bought 2 and half years ago for $10, and it it had 7 harmonicas in the keys of A, B, C, D, E, F, G.

As mentioned, get a diatonic (10 hole) harmonica in C. I recommend either the Hohner Special 20 or the Lee Oskar Major Diatonic.

As far as learning, I found it to be more difficult than the guitar. But it's quite fun and worth it.
Dear God, do you actually answer prayers?

Yes, but only in a way indistinguishable from random luck or the result of your own efforts.

Hohner Marine Band harmonicas are pretty versatile and well-built. They last long and can cover all genres well, although it is certainly best for blues.

Generally, you just need a diatonic harmonica in the key of C to start off. Make sure that you aren't buying a 5 or 10 dollar one, because you'll regret it later.

Listen to this, also there's a guy called Adam Gussow who does lessons on youtube, I'm not trying to advertise him (it's all free anyway), but I have learnt a lot from his videos.

Get a diatonic in C. Marine Bands are quality, but with the wooden reeds you have to break them in a bit.

And as for being easy to learn, it is easy to get decent and be able to play along with a guitar. But as with most instruments, very difficult to master.
