For those kind of prices, you could be looking at the musicman SUB's...I'm not sure how the SUB and the OLP's compare playability wise, but both are very similar instruments in look and design - and similar price it seems

An SUB is far superior to an OLP any day of the week. With an SUB, you are getting decently into the ballpark soundwise to a EBMM and the construction and playability are far superior.
