I was looking around the internet for some more valve junior mods and i found one where you put a light bulb inline with the speaker, this makes it quieter but also adds a pretty cool compressor effect at high volumes, all you need for it is a 7 watt bulb and a dpdt.

edit:: forgot to mention that i put one in my vj and so far im really liking it

..And?

There's tons of cool VJ mods though.
It's been awhile since I've done work on one.
If you swap out R6 (or wire a pot to it) you can get more distortion.
Also, swapping out different components can let you give your amp a new voice. I had an awesome chart somewhere with vox, marshall, fender, and gibson ga-1 mods.

EDIT: That's pretty sweet. I never put in one of the lightbulb attenuators.
Main gear (For complete list, see profile):
Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plain-top
Basswood Telecaster, 2 single-sized HB's, both split.
Epiphone Valve Junior
B-52 AT-412 Cabinet
Oh, and I have a Squier VM Jazz Bass too.

yah i have a gain switch and a stanby plus all the components are all swapped to be a marshall, i bought the components off turretboard ( they sell kits ) so nothing in the amp is stock anymore.
