Hey All.

My first electric guitar. Ever.
i was like 8.
and i had a realllyy bad guitar from argos.
it was an Encore
Black Strat-ish, with a double coil pickup.
ive had 3 new guitars since that one.
But anyway, i want to like rebuild it (if parents will let me)
Strip paint off of body (Because brother has drawn on it with sharp things.)
Strip the Encore logo.
Repaint it, so the top half where the horns are is red, and the rest below the pickup is black.
fit a new pickup and insides etc.
ive attached pics to this post, i have completely stripped the guitar of parts except the tuning heads.

So anyway, i would like some advice on what to do.

Please reply!

heheh
No not really, it was my brother carving it to see if it was solid wood.
And all those scratches were also my brother.

Guitar Fetish for everything, if you want cheap.

And to paint, check the ultimate paint/refinishing thread.

I would start with a new neck. From there whip out ye ole sand paper and strip that paint/gashes. After that I would smack your brother just for good measure. From there it's really up to you on what you want to paint, but as far as a pickup you can get just about anything in the range of 70-100 dollars depending on what style of music you play. Once you strip the paint I would recommend you check out the quality of the wood. If it's plywood you need to make the call, but plywood really doesn't sound that good with a passive pickup, whereas an active pickup would cancel out all the tonal qualities of the wood. I personally think a red to black burst would look really cool, or something else with black in the middle.
