shure sm-58 is pretty much the standard for live vocal mics. nice frequency response, extremely durable, and right around the $100 mark. pretty much exactly what you would want i would say.

Spend about 30 bucks more and get a Shure Beta 57. Best thing I've ever heard for live vocals outside of the beta 87A.
