I did a little research, I wanted a guitar with a tremelo, locking was prefered. My budget was $600, I play Metallica, Motorhead, Satch, Vai, basicly within the Traditional Heavey Metal/intrumental guitar range.

I came across this,

I heard stay away from Edge III, but I was never told WHY it was bad. Is this a good guitar or if not im open for all reccomendations.

edit: or would this be better? http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Schecter-Damien-Special-FR-Electric-Guitar?sku=515746

The EDGE III is considered bad because it's made of metals that aren't all that durable. When the knife edges of the trem start to wear down you lose tuning stability and the bridge just becomes a headache to deal with. You can read more about that here: http://www.lawl.net/gtr/trems

For your price range I alwasys recommend the Ibanez S320 because the ZR tremelo is a solid bridge and I have personal experience with it.

The schecter Hellraiser FR is another good guitar but I believe it's out of your budget. I would avoid that Damien you linked to. It has an LFR which tend to be pretty sketchy.
