Hello all , I was wondering if I can get some help in picking a guitar. I like to play rock, some heavy metal, and any thing that has fast paced music (if that make sense). I was looking at these:

1) Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Custom (Silverburst) [ http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Epiphone-Limited-Edition-Les-Paul-Custom?sku=519391
]

2) Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus Top Electric Guitar [ http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Epiphone-Les-Paul-Standard-Electric-Guitar?sku=518341
]

3) Fender Deluxe Lonestar Stratocaster Electric Guitar [ http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Fender-Deluxe-Lonestar-Stratocaster-Electric-Guitar?sku=515526&src=3SOSWXXA
]

4) Fender Deluxe Players Stratocaster Electric Guitar [ http://www.samedaymusic.com/product--FEN133000 ]

5) Fender Deluxe Players Stratocaster Electric Guitar (Maple) [ http://www.samedaymusic.com/product--FEN133002 ]

I know there are some that hate Fenders and some that hate Les Paul, but I don't mind since I am looking for one that sounds good. If anyone has any other guitars that they feel is good please let me know.

Thanks again

It's pretty heavy and makes my lower back hurt but that's because i injured my back when i was 15. Also, it's hard to play on the higher frets but all LP's have that problem due to its shape. It's also not as easy to play as my Fender Tele, but that's because LP's have slightly wider necks and rosewood fretboards and i prefer maple ones.

I'm not saying it's a bad guitar in any way... i'd have the same problems with any other Les Paul actually. It's a great buy but i really recommend trying it out before buying it as with any other guitar. Also it has quite a dark tone which is something i haven't found in other guitars (i personally love this).

Hope that helps... if you have any other questions let me know.

I challenge this statement.

My Epiphone Les Paul Ultra II is definitely on the lighter side, probably weighs about as much as a Fender Strat.

Mine weights just a bit more than my Tele, but i find it to be enough to make my back hurt after a while cuz of my injury.

I'd look into another company if you're going to play metal...
Jackson, ibanez, schecter, etc. etc.

I have a Ibanez SZ320, but I will look at the Jackson, and the Agiles. Thanks for the info.
