I just wrote most of an awesome death metal song. I'm modest, I know.
But when I showed my guitar buddies they were like needs a solo, I was like ya your right i'll get right on that. That was about a week ago. Here I am today.

I am so f*cking frustrated, I've been playing for three hours a day trying to wite a solo for my song and have gotten no where whatsoever. It's driving me f*cking nuts and I need some ideas to get past this block.

So pit how do you get past writers block? I'd like serious answers if possible

I have trained a live tarantula to calm and sit on my guitar due to the awesome powers of my rocking. When I am not playing it angrily bounces about my room hitting everything that isn't me.

nice name

listen to some songs of the same style that have solos. you could even use some of the phrases to build off of or even imitate to a degree. you'll end up coming up with your own ideas that make it sound completely original

Just wait for an idea to come to you and then work with that.

Also, sit on the toilet. I'm not even kidding. I can't even count the number of great ideas I've had while on the toilet. It's like it was made for thinking.

1) Use code tags and Courrier New font.

2) Did you mean metalcore? That looks almost similar to every As I Lay Dying riff.

3) Watch the following -> 1 , 2

4) Go to the Musician Talk forum

5) ???

6) Profit!

definately not metalcore i'd say more lamb of god than metalcore

Hate to burst your bubble there, but Lamb of God IS metalcore. It's just good metalcore, that's the only difference.

it sure helps to get that generic shredding sound. those rock cliches work well and by no means does he need to adhere to them exclusively.
