^topic, i am referring to the picking arm not the fretting arm.

personally i am going to have to say devil's island by megadeth is the most arm tiring song, more-so than songs like damage inc.

How come your on here for advice?

Give 10 UGers a rope and ask them to pull. 4 will push, 1 will ask for buttsecks, 2 will tell you get an Ibanez and the last 3 will start complaining about Line6 Spiders.

fermented offal discharge will completely murderfuck your right arm if you do it with only downstrokes, even with alternate picking
Vikings? What Vikings? We are but poor, simple farmers. The village was burning when we got here, and the people must have slain themselves.

Yeah... I use the same amount of downpicking as Mr. Sucimez does live, and I've been practising that song for maybe 4-5 months straight just to be able to play it through without taking breaks. Can do it now though, and man it's fun!

I dont think it is so tiring (it full of sweeps with heavy riffs and alternate picking) the solo is insane

it as kickass song but dont confuse tiring with kickass guitarnees

sweeps are not tiring on the picking hand

Megadeth's crap is crazy tiring...fraking no rests in the picking hand at all.

+1, at least most of their old stuff...

I find Stratosphere by Stratovarius tiring (at least during the speed picking parts) but there's a slow part in the middle of the song. Don't even want to think of not alternate picking it

Otherwise, I'd say Fermented Offal Discharge by Necrophagist.

Never Walk Alone, A Call to arms (Megadeth)

Mandatory Suicide (Slayer) It's all downpicking...

Raining Blood - Slayer
From the Sky - Gojira
Disposable Heroes - Metallica

Those are the ones that are currently destroying my picking hand anyway.

Clearly, clearly Meshuggah - Bleed or The Berzerker - Massacre.

The former being a 32nd/16th gallop at 200bpm throughout practically the whole song, the latter being the most ridiculously fast downpicked octaves and powerchords known to man.

Well I would have said that if I could actually play it...

Deicide - Homage For Satan
Nile - well... the majority of their stuff. Lashed To The Slave Stick comes to my mind.
Behemoth - Prometherion
Belphegor - Lucifer Incestus
Death - Misanthrope (not that bad, but still)
Emperor - Curse You All, Men!
Slayer - most of their golden era really gets to the muscle, Angel Of Death, Raining Blood, etc.
Sepultura - Beneath The Remains
Morbid Angel - Immortal Rites, it's got a decently long trem-picked part. Curse The Flesh is pretty tiring as well.
Suffocation - Redemption

There's looooots of tiring stuff out there if you want to build up some muscle.

EDIT: That list isn't in any particular order, I just wrote them up as I remembered the songs.

Anything with lots of tremolo picking.

I don't find tremolo picking that hard, unless you "spaz" your way through it.

Some ridicolous downpicking song would be it to me :p

I've gotten cramps in my shoulder from playing Raining Blood.

Lashed to the Slave Stick - Nile is also insane, especially the string skipping riff.

Master of Puppets also hurts if you play it with all downstroked.

Wow, disregard everything I said. Bleed is now the hardest song I have ever seen. That is the most ridiculous thing ever.
