I played the classic 50 2x12 and really liked what I heard but i only played for about 10 minutes. Is a good amp for classic/hard rock? I have an ibanez tube screamer for metal.

IMO the amp actually strugles to get a real good modern hard rock tone even with a TS, now it can do 90 alternitive stuff well, but modern metal is not really going to happen, mabe Iron Madian at best if you had all the right stuff to get it there. It can get pretty heavy, but I feel if your looking for a hard rock-metal amp, modern tones, then you can find amps that better suite you.

They are great, but the TS might not be such a good idea. Mids + mids = bad.

Not necessarily. I have a British midsy amp and with a huge midboost from my EQ pedal the tone is still lovely. Like a raunchy Vox.

Doesn't sound nasally? Well I suppose tone is subjective.

Not even near nasally. Although it would with some amps. I guess my amp is just very able to reproduce the mid frequencies (G12H speaker too) and so it doesn't cut them off or flatten them much as say an American amp would, which allows them to come out musically. That's my explanation at least?
