Can someone point me in the direction of a site that has the course outlines for the music theory grades I keep hearing about.

Thanks for any help.

Theory is descriptive, not prescriptive.

theory states 1+1=2 sometimes in music 1+1=3.

Most places make you buy a syllabus book. At least RCM does. Look at your local music shop for one! Hope this helps!

Thanks for your help. If no one knows any, can someone please link me to a structured course to learn music theory from start to finish.

As always thanks for any help.

In canada we have RCM grades, which are really only usefull for university/college entry and if you plan to have a serious career in music. As far as I know they only teach classical guitar, and all theory. I don't think they cover jazz and blues, at least not in depth.

I just happen to be Canadian, and am interested in all music theory, might even become a teacher. Can you link me to a site that has this outline?
