hi im planning on getting a new guitar around $450
im either getting a les paul or a stratocaster
if its a les paul should i get the agile al-3000 or an epiphone?
how do they compare to the stratocaster neckwise?
i currently have a Jay turser jt-220 cs which is a les paul copy
the neck plays fine i like the feel

Depends which model. I've never played an Agile but I hear they're lower quality than Epiphone. I'm talking in standards of course. What I'm saying is that a $500 Epiphone is better than a $500 Agile. Try them out if you can, thats always the best thing to do.

Neck-wise, the Les Paul neck is thicker and a little wider. When switching from playing an LP to a Strat, the neck on the the Strat's gonna feel thinner, and the fingerboard is gonna feel alot smaller. Nothing you couldnt get used to though, if you decide on the Strat.

Like I said, go to a music shop around you and play around with different guitars. $450 isnt a fortune to spend, but it's still alot and I'd want to be pretty satisfied with a guitar if I'm spending that much.

Also keep in mind that Epiphone Les Paul standards have increased in price to $550 for a plain top, and $650 for a plus(flame) top.

I'd go Agile or Gibson. Epiphone are way too overpriced. 650$ for a Plus Top?
You could get a better Agile for less than 400$.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

Compared to what they used to be, they kinda are.

well, that's true, but... you're not paying anywhere near as much for quite similar features as you would with a gibson.
