That is the Silvertone "Rockit"... I'm not sure if I can even call it an SG copy

Post the most half-assed attempts at copies you've ever seen

westfield company.....

shiiiite.

no ideas of their own, each guitar sells for about £75

I just visited their website... to be honest, they look really good! You must have been talking about the build quality... they look great imo! Even the bloody headstock styles are right! These aren't my idea of rubbish copies... not by a longshot.

EDIT: Oh god. I've just seen their SG and Les Paul styles. If they sell for as much as you say...

Collins St100. Strat copy for 69 euros.

I've never played a worse guitar in my life. It was pure and unadultered rubbish.
Few cheap strat copies are good, but this one was exceptionally crap (I did say CHEAP, don't lecture me on Suhr, Tokai and Tom Anderson)

All the shops I go to seem to be selling "Westfield" or "Aria" guitars. They look pretty shit to me.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

Yeah, because of course Jackson came out with the King V before Gibson introduced the Flying V. That makes sense.

All guitars come from another in some way. Only really original guitars are custom. Otherwise, it all comes from the Strat and the LP, which came from acoustics, which came from cavemen.
it's all just coming back
it's all coming back

it's all coming back to me

The Flying V has a pick guard and rounded edges and the King V has neither it has sharp edges.

it's not a copy but it was influenced by the Flying V

and i think the Flying V looks like shit anyway a V guitar with Rounded edges doesn't work for me

Allow me to shed some light on the Xiphos vs. Warrior topic.

1985 Ibanez Axstar:

1990 Jackson Warrior (based on the Jackson Warbird):

And for good measure, the Warbird:

What I'm trying to point out is that the Warrior was released 5 years after Ibanez put out the Axstar catalogs.

I don't know when the Warbird (which, correct me if I'm wrong, was a small run of CS instruments) was released, but if it was after 1985, I reckon Jackson took the Axstar body and made it pointier (alternatively, Ibanez may have taken the Warbird and made it rounder).

Of course this doesn't really settle the argument and I know that it was Jackson that has popularized the shape, but if you want to know who ripped of who, you'll have to look at their 80's models.

Also, as pointed out above, BC Rich was even earlier with their Stealth model (1979 I believe).
You've read it, you can't un-read it!
