I've heard that many noiseless single coils often have the tone sucked out of them to make them noiseless. I want to know what is the best kind of noiseless single coil to get that vintage stratty sound with all the pop and sparkle.

The Dimarzio Area series are great.

That's some bony hipster sex, which may be the best kind.

I think lace sensors are pretty quiet, and sound good. I believe Fender used to use them in thier strats.

GFS Neovin pickups. A set of three is under $100, and is by far the best for the money.

I like the tone of the YJM and HS-3. Although they are not quite as dynamic as real single coils, they sound pretty close.

playing by yourself is like masturbating, sure it feels great, but it's nothing compared to the real deal.

I couldn't tell you, I bought some fender vintage noiseless and hated them. hardly sounds like a single, more like a weak and twangy humbucker. GFS are making noiseless pickups that they claim to be genuine singles without the hum. http://store.guitarfetish.com/coju20nepino.html
I like GFS but I don't know if I believe this one, My best advise would be to buy whatever non-noiseless single coils you like, then pot the pickups and shield the pickgaurd and guitar cavity there are great instructions on how to do that here http://www.guitarnuts.com/index.php you don't have to follow the instructions to a T to significantly reduce the hum of your guitar but I guess if it's within your means to do so it would be a good idea.

i've got some 'hot' fender samarium cobalt noiseless (SCN) pups in my strat, they are pretty good. i did hear that the regular SCN pups are quite lifeless as you suggest.

texas specials are good, although they are not noiseless individually the mid is reverse wound so you get noise cancellation in the 2 and 4 selector positions.
I've been imitated so well I've heard people copy my mistakes.

my SCN pups are great.

so are the virtual vintage heavy blues and YjM pups from Dimarzio.
