for my performance portfollio, needs to be stereoptypical jazz guitar, guitarist around grade 6-7 on my rock nonesense so i am looking for something around a sort of 5-6 level approxiamtely, but nothing out of hand i have only every played simple jazz before

Any jazz tune can become impressive if you arrange a decent chord/melody of it. If you can't/refuse to do that, learn 'Moonlight in Vermont' by Johnny Smith i s'pose. There's a nice powertab of it around here somewhere.
