Next wednesday my Spanish class is having a fiesta and I've been requested to provide musical entertainment. Seeing as how it's a Spanish class, I figure I should play Spanish -sounding songs, as the title suggests. Does anybody in the pit know any good ones that would be relatively easy to learn? Thanks

Easy-to-play Spanish music is an oxymoron. Just pick a song and sing it en Español.

I do believe you just used Blink 182 and hard rock in the same sentence. It would seem you're rather confused.
I have a quote in my signature! And it makes fun of blink-182! I'm cool now!

The intro to Welcome Home by Coheed and Cambria sounds pretty spanish. Although after that it's not so spanish-y... >_>
Too lazy to make a sig right now. I'll do it some other time.

Hahaha no no, just learn some Paco de Lucia.

Should be easy.

i suggest santana songs, listen to his CD Supernatural.
then, i suggest just fiddling around with chord progessions like Am - G - F - E
or
Dm - C - Bb - C

The end of CSN's "Suite Judy Blue Eyes" has Spanish singing, I got credit for it in my Spanish class a couple years ago. Also, "White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane is written in the Phrygian mode, which usually sounds pretty Spanish.

Any song by Santana.
I mean, seriously, how much more Latin could you get?
If you need songs SUNG in Spanish, Santana has a lot of songs in Spanish, too.
Either way it's win-win.
#29
Pick up any sambas, bossa novas, and other latin tunes. Doesn't matter which. They all sound the same. Just get the grooves right.

...modes and scales are still useless.

I especially like the part where they have that little guitar solo thing with the sweet drum fills. It just sounds like some sweet classic rock thing or something.
