I recently went up from a gauge 9 to 11 on my revolver x (floyd rose) equalled that out, only problem is that the 17th fret g string doesn't ring out at all, just makes a crackly noise on the amp. Is ithis due to the gauge change? Is it likely to sort itselt out when the strings settle in. This is the first time it's had 11's on.

I've tried raising and lowering the action makes no difference.

Floyd Rose I'm not touching. It may be the bridge or tension on the FR. Personally, that's why I hate them, more trouble than they are worth on those floating bridge's. The string gauge change would severly affection tension though, and I could understand where the thickness could press it against the frets too so that's why I suggest looking at your bridge.

Metal, should kick you in the nuts, after you catch it messing around with your girlfriend.
and then make a sandwhich in your house and walk out.
