and will it have resale value ?

I would say it is, Although I could only see it working with your ska and surf needs, everything else would need a nice OD

I say go for it, but you need to try it first.
It should sound great for ska and surf. With a distortion pedal you should be able to get those other genres, although I hate it when an amp such as the TR has distortion pedals running in front of it. But, you will probably like it.

ah lucky me i have my od pedal, but will the TR still be worth a bit if i ever need to sell it (lets say owing the mob money so they dont break my legs lol)

If you keep the thing in nice shape, yes it should be worth a good amount of money. It still wont be worth nearly as much as the vintage ones but you should still be able to squeeze out more then what your paying for it.
