I'm making some home recordings (metal) and I was wondering if there is a general volume/wattage you should record at.

thanks

No. As long as your microphone picks it up, you're good. If it's tube, louder tends to sound better, but isn't necessary. Keep your parents on your good side.

Just turn it up until it sounds its best, if you're using tube that is. If you're using solid state then don't turn it up so loud that you get speaker distortion, but it generally doesn't matter what volume you record at.

You should probably mug John Frusciante or Ritchie Blackmore. They're small guys, we could take 'em.

Just look out for that other guy in the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Will Farrel. He's a tall mofo, got a long reach.
