Greetings,

I've been using a Fender G-Dec for the past 3 years and I've been starting to get into band practices and gigs. The volume at 10 is tremendously low.

I play mostly blues, rock and a bit of metal, jazz and pop and I have 600 dollars Canadian to spend.

I've been thinking about a Fender Blues junior but I would also need lots of new pedals which I am willing to buy at a later time. I am not interested in Traynor or Peavey at all. I do not enjoy their sound.

Any recommendations?

Do you need cleans? If not the BJ would be good.
I don't give a shit if you listen to me or not

If you want your cleans to be heard over a drummer you really want at least 30 watts. If you're playing only cleans then a hot rod deluxe is a good bet, the overdrive sucks, but the cleans are good and the price is right, look for one used.

Err, they aren't that good. For blues an OD would work just fine. How important is metal too you? If its important enough to have nice distortion then a mesa f-30 is a pretty versatile choice that is definitely capable of doing anywhere from metal to blues. You'd have to find one used since they aren't made anymore.

Alright,

How do you guys feel if I also bought a Boss DS-1 Distortion Pedal?

Bad. Get a Bad Monkey.
I wondered why the frisbee was getting bigger, then it hit me.

Epiphone Valve Jr $125 wut?

Peavey Supreme XL stack $550 - never seen one before (looks like a VK)

Valveking head for $425
lost link

Worth a look, you can get a lot of value going with used gear. Blues Jr will struggle with metal. Are there any B52s in your area? The amp.

Peavey and Traynor don't have "one sound." Especially Peavey. The Classic 30 and 6505 or miles apart. I'm sure there's SOME amp they have you like

If your lucky you could maybe you could find a Hot Rod deluxe for a good price

Well I've made my choice.

Fender Blues Deluxe.

Now for the original one or the reissue....

Why the Blues Deluxe? IT CAN'T DO METAL.

Just making sure you get that.

You seem to think that Fender is the only amp company worth looking into. Check out 311Zoso's post, there are plenty of good links in there.

Old enough to yell rape.

Alright, so I take it you're looking for a HARD ROCK crunch kind of tone?

In that case, a Hotrod Deluxe would probably work nicely paired with a good OD.

If you want a deep purple kind of tone then you really want a marshally sounding amp. In your price range the ycv50 blue is perfect.
