so, here's the deal: Im currently being offered a 2001 VOX ac30/6 TB reissue for 800€...those are considered to be the best reissues ever made and to be closest to the original ac30s (JMI), i cannot try it though. now the alternative for this would be an ac30cc1, which i've tried and liked a lot. its 200€ more though...

UG, i come to you to tell me what to do - do it naough!

no, seriously, I dont like the idea of buying an amp without trying it, but since it'll be an ac30 sound...well, im just not sure

Looks great. Did some check ups on them. Might be a bit hard to get to OD at room volumes, but throw in an OD infront of it and you're there. Great speakers to. I'd get it!

It seems to be a great amp and I have tried JMI's 4 input version and liked it A LOT!

no matter what, your going to get an AC30 sound, pretty much. im sure you will love it, assuming you love the ac30 sound. i would go with the cheaper one, after all, its allegedly the best one. so you should at least like it as much as the new one.

Well actually he'd be getting a treble booster for it. My Brit Master that is, which will do the trick.

Do it.

I bought my Orange Rocker 30 on complete impulse, don't regret it at all

I liked the AC30CCs better for OD tone than the reissues. The reissues tended to get some bad ice-pick when you turned them up. The clean tone on both was excellent if a tad better on the reissue.
The AC30CCs are really, really, really good AC30s. Outside an original, they're my favorite sounding version.

congrats on your mod status Roc!

wut?

i've never played an AC30 of any kind so I'll shut up now.

mhm, alright
that might be because of the master volume maybe?
what reissues have you tried? apart from the cc's?

I do actually agree on that!

However this guy isn't going to be running this amp cranked up. With an OD things should be cool really.

The TBXs, the AC30/6 reissue, and the new handwired reissues.
And Gabel is right. If you're going to use an OD, get the reissue for the clean tones. The AC30 is a more complete standalone amp but the reissue will play better with pedals.

well, the thing is - i do like amp OD, especially AC30 OD

and while its not the case as of now, i do plan on eventually find some people to jam/form a band with - and in that i might want the OD since i can play at pretty loud volumes. but if its not "as good" on the reissues...well, i dunno

Well a good OD pedal will let trhough the amp's character.

My tip is to get it. You could easily sell it for the same price later if you don't like it.
