I'm looking to upgrade from the Microcube.

Needs to have/be:

Great cleans at low volume for practicing
A fair amount of headroom, but high volume not too important
Ability to take individual pedals well
Durable
No onboard effects, except reverb if decent
Be under £500/$950 (I'm in the UK)

Any ideas?

Cheers.

EDIT:

Shortlist:

Orange Tiny Terror
VOX AC30 CC1/2
Peavey Classic 30

Play a Cort ?

Play with V-Picks ?

Every minute is to be Grasped........................................................................Time waits for nobody.

What style(s) of music do you play most?

EDIT: If all your after is good cleans, how 'bout a Vox AC30? it should have enough headroom, and sounds great.

fender deluxe reverb RI or fender Princeton RI. if you have enough cash, the fender custom vibrolux. it'd 40 watts, all tube, tube powered reverb and tremolo. it's 1100$ USD$, so i'm not sure what that would be in pounds.

That wouldn't work too well for him, because Fenders are as overpriced there as Oranges are here.

I'd look into a Vox AC30 CC1 if I were you.

I'd suggest a Orange Tiny Terror (Head & Combo)
Just easier to upgrade to another amp as you already have a cab

I hadn't really considered the AC30- how well does it take pedals, eg. Bad Monkey / Satchurator?

On my Microcube, I use-

Acoustic - 5%
JC Clean- 35%
Black Panel- 10%
Brit Combo- 25%
Classic Stack- 10%
R-Fier- 15%

Play a Cort ?

Play with V-Picks ?

It 'll take any overdrive just fine. I don't know if it has an effects loop so you may have problems with other effects

How about the Peavey Classic 30? I know it's at the bottom end of the budget, but still...

Play a Cort ?

Play with V-Picks ?

I'd imagine the AC30 and the Classic 30 would be rather similar from the way people describe the Classic.

Besides, the Brit Combo model on the Micro Cube is modeled after the AC30's OD, and ACs are great for cleans to begin with.
