Im trying to learn a song with tapping, its tapping in 3 strings. When I play it it really sound horrible because the strings sort of keep sounding after I tapped them, is there anyway I can mute those strings so that my tapping is cleaner?

If your tapping with one hand, mute the frets above where your tapping with your other hand, that stops like the 0's ringing out by mistake

get a sock or something soft and tie it around the first fret/bridge?. whatever that is called. its the best way, a hankerchief would do the trick.

^This works. I've found a tennis/golf wristband or hair scrunchy works the best for it.
